Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Saxton's River, Vermont. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations and ensuring accurate accounting practices are followed. This position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and expertise in general ledger activities and account reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee month-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
• Prepare and post journal entries while verifying accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct account reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.
• Perform bank reconciliations and address any discrepancies promptly.
• Utilize Blackbaud Financial Edge software for accounting tasks and reporting.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial operations.• Proven experience in accounting with a focus on month-end closing processes.
• Proficiency in managing general ledger activities and preparing journal entries.
• Strong background in account and bank reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
