Our client is an innovative defense technology company that builds cutting-edge autonomy software for unmanned systems. They have secured $10M in funding and have established relationships with defense customers. Their revolutionary approach involves rethinking autonomy from the chip up, utilizing modular AI, advanced visual-inertial sensing, and real-time edge compute technology to unlock next-generation mission capabilities. They are seeking an experienced Field Technical Lead to deploy, integrate, and sustain their autonomous "agentic intelligence" in live field environments. In this critical role, you will serve as the bridge between R&D and customer teams, ensuring flawless performance of autonomous systems under real-world conditions.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end field deployments: install, configure, and troubleshoot autonomy hardware/software
  • Serve as primary technical liaison to DoD and allied operator teams
  • Deliver hands-on training and collect operational feedback for continuous product improvement
  • Document field data, produce performance reports, and drive iterative enhancements
  • Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and customer engagement on domestic and overseas missions
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable feedback for the product development team
  • Ensure proper system operation in GPS- and communications-denied environments
  • Maintain security protocols and compliance with relevant defense regulations


Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of field or technical support experience in a military context (Officer or senior NCO)
  • On-Site with Travel Required CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Active Secret (TS/SCI eligibility preferred)
  • Proficiency with networking, Linux-based systems, and embedded platforms
  • Outstanding customer-facing skills and a mission-focused mindset
  • Passion for travel and adaptability in dynamic, austere environments
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities
  • Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or advanced defense technologies preferred
  • Background in unmanned aerial, ground, or maritime systems a plus
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and operational requirements preferred
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies a plus
  • Technical degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field a plus
