Dishwashers are key to a smooth restaurant service. The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils and other kitchen equipment.
- Sort and rinse dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send though dish machine.
- Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewash soiled dishes before delivering.
- Change dish water in dish machine as necessary
- Wash pots, pans and trays by hand
- Remove trash and recyclables to dumpster
- Set up or break down dishwashing area
- Clean and roll/unroll mats
- Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
- Sweep/mop floors
- Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster
- Conduct general restaurant cleaning as directed
- Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
- Notify a manager any time the dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
- Other duties as directed.
Requirements:
- Must be able to carry 50lbs frequently
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work on weekends and some holidays
- Ability to maintain composure during stressful, high volume times.
- Ability to work in a kitchen environment.
