BioTouch is looking for dependable, safety-focused On-Call Box Truck Drivers to support our operations during peaks times, special deliveries, and coverage needs. This role is perfect for drivers seeking flexible work, supplemental income, or varied schedules without a full-time commitment.
SUMMARY: The Box Truck Driver is responsible for transporting patient specimens and medical items from one location to another per our customers request. This includes loading items into vehicle, driving to a specified destination, and unloading items per company procedures.
Shift(s): Overnight Weekends, 1st and Mid-Shift Weekends
Schedule(s):
- Friday, 7:30 PM through Saturday, 7:30 AM
- Saturday, 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM
- Saturday, 7:30 PM through Sunday, 7:30 AM
- Sunday, 7:30 AM to 11:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25.00/hourResponsibilities
- Operates a company or client owned box truck to transport medical materials including specimens, sensitive medical supplies, and temperature controlled equipment.
- Loads and unloads medical items from vehicle and ensures specimens, medicines, equipment or documents are properly maintained and safely secured.
- Delivers the applicable items to the correct destinations in a timely manner and based on routing specifications.
- May include operating pallet jack to move, stack and unstack pallets from one location to another.
- Interacts with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintains accurate and legible delivery records and follows standard pickup and delivery procedures.
- Communicates with dispatch and management when there are delays with deliveries, delivery status changes, etc.
- Inspects, cleans, and follows the Maintenance Check List on assigned Company or Client vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a box truck driver or similar role
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic laws
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and customer service sills
- Must be HIPAA compliant at all times - Training provided
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Demonstrates strong work ethic, integrity, and a high level of attention to details
PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
Employee must be able to walk, bend, reach, climb, and lift 50 pounds or more. The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position. - Frequent driving and getting in and out of the vehicle.
- Ability to operate a manual pallet jack.
- Frequent walking, climbing, bending stooping, reaching and lifting 50 pounds or more.
- Wearing appropriate attire and footwear that provides comfort and support while driving, bending, stooping, climbing and lifting.
- Must be able to hear with specific vision abilities which include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- The position is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
