Description:

We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our Chemical Biology group. We aim to treat serious diseases, many with targets difficult to drug. In this lab-based role, this scientist will help deploy novel covalent drug discovery techniques to the identification and validation of ligands for hard-to-target proteins. The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail oriented, life-long learner with expertise in covalent drug discovery and compound screening.

Top requirements:

• Skilled in proteomics workflow
• Mammalian cell culture
• Affinity capture or immunoprecipitation skills
• Sample preparation for Mass Spec analysis

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· High throughput compound screening

· Designing, executing and troubleshooting novel screening approaches for covalent ligand discovery

· Proactive verbal and written communication to effectively engage with scientists from different disciplines on the team.

· Collaboratively work with members of the team to coordinate screening staging and timing

Knowledge and Skills:

· Expertise in covalent chemoproteomics and data analysis

· Knowledgeable about concepts of compound binding affinity, selectivity, reactivity and kinetics

· Automation for liquid handling

· Affinity capture methods including immunoprecipitation

· Western analysis

· Cell biology (cell culture, lentiviral based expression)
