Job Purpose/ Summary:

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Technical Services, the Director of Project Engineering is responsible for the overall leadership, quality, and growth of project engineering delivery. This person will focus on accelerating organization performance through direct leadership of transition engineered designs through to fruition and transitioning to the customer support organization. Network security will also be a key focus of this leader while keeping up security standards and confirm disciplined cyber security posture. This role is responsible for driving team performance to meet internal company an external customer goals.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project engineering team to ensure that customer specifications, project deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Establish and direct the company’s processes, procedures, and installation practices with our extended PSG team to ensure all services are delivered efficiently and meet the company’s standards and customer’s needs.
  • Collaboration with Product, Design Engineering and NOC teams to understand the company’s technology architecture, training as well as smooth transitions for day-2 customer support.
  • Collaborate with PSG teams to prioritize projects and develop and implement systems plans that address the information requirements of the business and adhere to established strategic business objectives.
  • Develop process to assist with efficiently deploying our technical projects. Quality control practice are paramount to develop, mandate and make sure the team is adhering to.
  • Assisting with developing, implementing an monitoring Single Digits cybersecurity programs and posture related to customer network implementations and regular monitoring analysis.
  • Works with the PSG team and customers to triage and address issues raised by the clients during the implementation process.
  • Responsible for managing the Project Engineering team budget.
  • Manages the project engineering teams which may include contractors and third-party vendors that could be geographically scattered.
  • Status reporting to the Executive Management Team.
  • Create processes and standards for the selection, implementation, and support of systems.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and training to the Engineering staff.


Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing extensive information technology projects.

Licenses, Certifications, and Screenings:

  • Upon hire, must pass background screen to include employment history, college education, and license/certification verifications, and criminal check.

Knowledge:

  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems and telecommunications systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
  • Proven leadership and decision-making skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to readily communicate complex technical information in an easy to understand format.
  • Possesses solid knowledge and experience in network design, implementation, and administration.
  • Excellent project management skills and demonstrated competency in the execution of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional ethical/professional code of conduct, judgment, and high degree of integrity.
  • Must be highly proficient with PC applications and current software platforms such as email, Word, Excel, Visio, and other Industry recognized applications.
  • Fluent understanding of large network implementations, network protocols, network, and network topologies.
  • Possesses solid knowledge and experience in complex, structured cabling practices that include interior/exterior installations, terminating and testing Cat5/Cat6, coax and fiber optic cabling.
  • Possesses solid knowledge and experience with configuring and installing Routers, Firewalls, Internet Gateway Servers, Layer2/3 Ethernet Switches and Wireless Access Points in commercial/Enterprise environments.
  • Possesses solid knowledge and experience in troubleshooting complex problems in various network manufacturer equipment types.
  • A+, Network+, CCENT and CCNA are a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Office environment.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing, but occasionally requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Frequent use of computer/keyboard/mouse required.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Some travel, is required (10-15%).
