Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional with a background in real estate law, title, or closing. This role is dedicated to reviewing escrow account reconciliations, monitoring outstanding checks and trial balances, and ensuring every file resolves to zero. This is not a generic back-office accounting position it requires a deep understanding of IOLTA accounts, real estate trust accounting, and the urgency of compliance in the closing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and reconcile daily, monthly, and quarterly escrow account reports.
• Monitor reconciliation reports and act quickly to resolve discrepancies.
• Research and resolve uncleared checks, trial balance variances, and outstanding withdrawals.
• Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, banks, and clients to clear balances.
• Track all unresolved items, escalate issues, and follow through until closed.
• Maintain compliance with state bar requirements, ALTA best practices, and internal firm policies.
  

Qualifications

• Required: 3+ years in real estate law firm, title company, or escrow accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IOLTA/trust accounting, real estate disbursements, and closing workflows.
• Meticulous attention to detail must thrive on reviewing large volumes of financial data and catching variances.
• Excellent communication skills ability to work with attorneys and staff to resolve issues.
• Proficiency with reconciliation software (Rynoh, Qualia, E-Closing, or similar) preferred.
