Verdox seeks a Chemistry Technician to join our R&D team. This position reports to the Polymer Scientist.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the synthesis and purification of small-molecule and polymeric materials on the multigram to kilogram scale, using existing synthetic procedures developed by Verdox chemists
- Use and maintain Verdox’s multi-liter reactors for the safe and reliable scale-up of synthetic reactions
- Working closely with chemists and scientists, iterate on existing synthetic procedures to identify optimal reaction conditions
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- BS/BA in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent), with minimum ten years of relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated experience executing multigram to kilogram scale synthesis safely
- Comfortable with varied purification techniques including large scale purification
- Experience with polymer synthesis, purification and physical characterization is a plus
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in an evolutionary and dynamic startup environment
