Job Description
Job DescriptionSalary:
Unity Audio Engineer/Sound Designer.
Role Overview
As a Unity Audio Engineer/Sound Designer, you will be in charge of integrating our pre-recorded sound effects into our unity environment and make them feel realistic, alive and dynamic. The goal of this project is to generate waveforms as faithfully as possible through the use of Unity 3D tools and audio processing plugins like FMOD for external analysis. Our Unity Scenes are designed to simulate realistic combat scenarios inducing a large variety of contexts for sound generation in very different conditions. The Unity Audio Engineer/Sound Designer should be able to mix, modulate, and adapt raw audio input for dynamic synthetic mixing at the lowest possible latency. Additionally, final audio waveforms generated dynamically within the scene need to be made available for further processing offline in digital format.
*THIS IS A 4 MONTH CONTRACT POSITION*
Key Responsibilities
- Sound Spatialization and playback in different hardware: Must tune and sculpt mixing coefficients for complex sounds as a function of spatial and circumstantial variables for playback on Headphones or other surround-enabled hardware.
- FMOD (or similar): must be proficient with digital audio editing tool such as FMOD (or equivalent) and its integration within the Unity system.
- Sound synthesis (interpolation, mixing, etc.): must have significant experience altering raw waveform through FMOD (or similar) to produce complex sound effects from more basic recorded audio.
- Digital soundwave processing:
Must
have deep understanding of digital sound properties for processing and analysis. - Optimization of quality and latency: must ensure lowest possible latency during realtime sound playback while Unity Scene is running as well as a strong mastery of quality enhancement tools
- Realistic sound effects: must show a very sharp sensitivity for the realistic quality of synthetic sounds to ensure maximum fidelity to real sound experiences, in particular for combat situations (explosions, motors, gunshots, noise, etc)
Required Qualifications
- Masters in Audio Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Proven track record of expertise with FMOD or equivalent tool
- Minimum 4 years of Experience with Unity 3D Editor
- Proven track record generating high quality dynamic synthetic audio within gameplay.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working with 3D audio spatialization
- Minimum 3 years of experience processing digital audio or equivalent degree or certification
- Passion for sound effects
- Motivated to work in Department of War-oriented environment
- Experience with VR development a plus
