Summary:
The Senior Planner is responsible for ensuring that customer orders are processed, scheduled, monitored, and fulfilled accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner to support HIPER Global revenue goal(s). Interface with relevant customers and suppliers on order status, change orders, shipment tracking, delivery, and issue resolution. This is a role that will need a proactive person who is able to work on their own initiative to drive orders through the system and drive continuous improvement within the function.
Job Responsibilities/Activities:
- Daily responsibilities include purchasing materials for assigned accounts, order capture and directing the timely execution of all orders in the queue
- Work closely with customers and suppliers to provide accurate sales order and purchase order information and tracking numbers (when applicable)
- Work with freight forwarders to assure timely and accurate delivery information (packing slips, certificates of conformance, commercial invoices, etc.)
- Must follow and use controlled AS9100 procedures, processes, and checklists to be sure products ship and are documented in the ERP system.
- Manage and transact customer Sales Orders in ERP system through shipment process (PO receipt, sales order pick and ship confirmation) including dates, quantities, and notations on order fulfillment history.
- Review order status and print pick list(s) to ensure timely transactions to meet customer delivery dates.
- Responsible for selecting mode of transportation, tracking the shipment from pick up through delivery to meet customer requirements (unless otherwise noted by the customer or MRP System)
- Maintain working knowledge of products and/or services within the areas being worked.
- Coordinate and collaborate with different departments in a professional manner
- Ability to work extra time as necessary during peak production times. This shall include the end of quarters
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Key knowledge and skills required:
- Ability to multitask, have good organizational and time management skills to ensure that the requested tasks are completed by the specific deadlines.
- Candidates must be self-motivated and possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented, organized, and demonstrate a high sense of urgency
- Can write and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Strong work ethic and a problem-solving attitude while working independently and as a group
- Employees must maintain the confidentiality of all customer and company information
- Must have experience as a Buyer and Planner as well as a working knowledge in Logistics
- Knowledge of EPICOR preferred
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Standards (AS9100)
- Degree or minimum 5 years’ experience in Operations.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Proficient with current MRP Systems. Epicor experience is a plus.
