Do you take pride in precision and enjoy working with advanced manufacturing equipment? As a Laser Operator at NEDC, you’ll be at the heart of our production process — setting up, maintaining, and running our laser machinery to deliver the highest-quality parts to our customers.

What You’ll Do Every Day

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Set up machines to cut or slit parts and samples per specifications

  • Maintain production tools and equipment to ensure consistent quality

  • Complete data entry for all jobs, recording cycle times and material usage

  • Document production activities including materials used, run-times, PO#s, and traceability requirements

  • Perform preventive machine maintenance as scheduled

  • Order production-related supplies when needed

  • Partner with inspection and quality staff to meet workmanship requirements

  • Follow ISO 9001 Quality System procedures and company safety policies

  • Be a reliable team member — regular and consistent attendance is essential

  • Take on other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment

Skills That Will Help You Succeed:

  • Technical reading & communication – Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports; and communicate effectively with peers

  • Math confidence – Comfortable with calculations involving percentages, area, circumference, and basic geometry/algebra

  • Problem-solving ability – Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form

  • Computer familiarity – Basic spreadsheet and data entry skills

What Your Day Looks Like

Physical Environment:

  • Active role: standing and walking up to 85% of the day

  • Using hands frequently, with occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds

Work Setting:

  • Clean, structured manufacturing environment

  • Occasional exposure to:

    • Moving mechanical parts

    • Fumes or airborne particles

    • Outdoor weather conditions

    • Moderate noise levels

  • May occasionally work in areas with temperature variation or vibration
