Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated NPI Engineer to join our Littleton engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing new product introduction (NPI) activities for both security systems and medical equipment integration projects. This role requires a deep understanding of hardware integration, manufacturing process control, and compliance with industry standards including AS9100 and ISO 9000.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end NPI process, from design validation to production readiness.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure seamless transition from prototype to volume manufacturing.
Develop comprehensive work instructions, assembly procedures, and test documentation for:
• Mechanical and electromechanical assemblies
• Software configuration and operating system implementation
• Firmware, BIOS, and IPMI setup processes
• Manage product configuration, BOM creation, work instructions, and documentation within the PLM system.
• Ensure all processes comply with AS9100 (Aerospace) and ISO 9000 quality standards.
• Support client engineering teams on technical discussions, product qualification, and design for manufacturability (DFM) improvements.
• Identify risks and propose engineering solutions during POC and pilot phases.
• Participate in ECO/MCO processes, ensuring traceability and controlled implementation.
• Provide training and technical support to production and test engineering staff.
Required Qualifications
• B.Sc. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in NPI, manufacturing engineering, or hardware integration.
• Strong familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO 13485 quality systems.
• Experience with PLM and ERP systems.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply engineering documentation, BOMs, and schematics.
• Hands-on understanding of assembly, testing, and configuration of complex electronic systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in security, medical, or industrial computing industries.
• Familiarity with Monday.com, Ansible-based automation, or test automation frameworks.
• Exposure to regulatory compliance and traceability documentation in controlled industries.
• Knowledge of IPC standards and electromechanical integration.
