SUMMARY:
Analogic corporation is seeking a motivated electrical engineer to be part of a dynamic RF design group to design and test new generation and existing HF/VHF RF amplifiers for industrial/medical applications with substantial growth potential. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development and test of new and existing power and RF products. The position requires fundamental knowledge of electrical engineering principles and concepts. This role requires an engineer with good problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly learn new technology and adjust to a dynamic work environment. This position is based in Peabody, MA.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Designs RF PCB-level, and analog circuits to meet product specification and cost requirements
- Tests and validates RF circuitry for new product designs, including, power amplifiers, drivers, power combiners, and directional couplers
- Creates documentation of own design, including design schematics and collaborates with the PCB designer during circuit layout
- Collaborates with other engineering disciplines and cross-functional teams during the product development phase
- Explores new component technologies and utilizes them for new designs where appropriate to achieve cost, performance and size goals
- Provides engineering support to exiting product portfolio
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or higher with a minimum of 5 years of RF design experience
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of RF power experience (500 Watt or greater) in the 3MHz - 120 MHz frequency
- Background in RF design fundamentals with competency in impedance matching, and transmission line transformers principles
- Proficient testing and troubleshooting skills for RF and analog circuitry using common RF test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers and spectrum analyzers
- Experience with PSPICE (ORCAD) analog simulation tool
- Familiarity with LabVIEW is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to stay focused on very complex and abstract concepts for extended periods of time.
WORK CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
Work is in an office and lab environment. As such, work may involve interaction with high levels of AC/DC voltage and current and high levels of RF power. Position is also required to have basic soldering and assembly skills. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
TRAVEL:
Occasional travel could be expected. Must be able to obtain a passport and visas
