Job Summary/Objective:

The Director of Marketing (DM) at Bake’n Joy plays a critical role in driving revenue growth and increasing market share by developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy. As part of the Senior Management Team, the DM is responsible for brand management and product launch schedules; as well as a key collaborator with our R&D and Sales leadership teams around product innovation. The DM ensures the alignment of marketing activities with the company’s sales goals and mission, overseeing all aspects of corporate and brand identity, advertising, digital marketing, and internal communications. This role involves leading a team of marketing professionals and managing relationships with external partners to achieve strategic business objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and direct the daily activities of the Marketing Team, including coaching, training, and performance management to foster a high-performing team.
  • Budget Management: Efficiently manage the approved Marketing Budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  • Brand Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive Brand strategy that strengthens corporate and product identities.
  • Marketing Strategy: Create and oversee the execution of marketing strategies for both new and existing products, including advertising campaigns, social media, digital marketing, sales exhibitions, and public relations.
  • Lead Generation & CRM: Generate sales leads, enhance the company’s social media presence, and maintain corporate awareness. Have a strong working knowledge of our CRM tool to efficiently and effectively streamline communication and manage the sales/marketing lead process.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with R&D to facilitate new product initiation and communicate key development milestones to stakeholders.
  • Sales Support: Work closely with the Sales team, providing them with tools, materials, presentations, and market analysis to meet commercial objectives.
  • Corporate Brand Assets Management: Oversee and manage corporate brand assets, including trademark registrations, logos, brand standards, photography, videos, social media, website content, and more.
  • Internal Communication: Develop internal communication strategies to protect and promote brand equity through adherence to brand standards and the use of approved brand assets.
  • Market Analysis: Continuously analyze the competitive environment and consumer trends to inform marketing strategies.
  • Safety Compliance: Understand and adhere to all safety rules and procedures at all times.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro), social media platforms, website design and content management, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position supervises the Marketing Team, providing leadership, guidance, and performance management to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Work Environment:

  • The role primarily operates in an office environment but requires occasional visits to production facilities and attendance at trade shows or external events. The noise level is typically low to moderate, with occasional exposure to higher noise levels during events or in production areas.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and move between offices and events.

Position Type:

  • Full-Time

Work Hours:

  • Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours or weekend work required to meet project deadlines or attend events.

Travel:

  • Up to 10% travel may be required for this position, including attending trade shows, visiting production facilities, and meeting with external partners.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Design, or a related field.
  • MBA preferred or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a marketing environment, preferably within the food industry.
  • Proven experience in team management and development.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint and ERP systems.
  • Sales experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating professionalism with internal and external customers.
