Marioff North America (Marioff, Inc), which is based in the Boston/Worcester, Massachusetts area is seeking a highly organized and proactive Buyer/Planner & Customer Service Specialist (Combined Role) to join our dynamic U.S. team.

Key Responsibilities:

This blended/combined role is responsible for managing purchasing, inventory balance, and production planning activities while also supporting our customer service function. The additional customer service responsibilities include entering orders, responding to customer requests, and providing pricing and availability information. This role is ideal for someone with a customer-first mindset who thrives in a fast-paced/can-do and detail-oriented environment.

Purchasing & Planning:

  • Place and manage purchase orders to maintain optimal inventory levels based on demand forecasts and lead times.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain issues.
  • Monitor and update planning schedules based on customer demand, production capacity, and material availability.
  • Track and manage open purchase orders; follow up on past-due items and expedite when necessary.
  • Analyze usage, inventory trends, and forecasts to drive purchasing decisions via MRP reports, etc
  • Support and co-lead the SIOP process to align demand forecasts with inventory metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align supply plans with manufacturing and project requirements.
  • Assist in processing requests or needs for new vendor accts to be set up on JDE (ERP System) to be able to issue and receive in system generated PO’s
  • Coordinate shipments and deliveries with freight forwarders for material procured from overseas suppliers, while also working with custom brokers to provide any required information to clear shipments into U.S.


Customer Service:

  • Enter customer orders accurately into the ERP system and confirm lead times.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries regarding order status, pricing, and product availability.
  • Coordinate internally to resolve customer issues and ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Provide quotes or pricing details based on established pricing structures or in coordination with sales and management.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through clear and responsive communication.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a buyer/planner or supply chain role; customer service experience a plus.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., JDE or equivalent).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other business tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.
  • Experience with supporting the importation of materials into U.S.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial equipment environments.
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles, SIOP, and demand planning.
  • Able to work individually and within a team
  • Good people skills and ability to work with internal and external customers
  • Familiarity with pricing strategy or quoting processes.
  • Knowledge of working with freight forwarders for transport of goods from outside of U.S.
