Job DescriptionDescription:

Position Summary: The Assistant Manager will assist Program Manager in administrative and on-call tasks as well as provide coverage when absent from the program.

The Direct Support Professional will professionally support through the challenges of daily life, moderate to high risk/high need individuals who are receiving services and assist them in achieving the highest level of independence in all settings in accordance with all applicable state and agency regulations and protocols.


Essential Responsibilities:

Direct Support Professional:

· Follow program schedule and daily duties as outlined by team and Program Manager

· Responsible for consistent implementation of resident programming training (Service Agreement Goals & Objectives: daily living skills)

· Responsible for meeting all Residential Standards and Regulations as required by the Division of Mental Health and Developmental Services and/or Moore Center Services, Inc.

· Responsible for appropriate record keeping and report writing and timely/accurate documentation

· Communicate effectively with clients, clinical supervisory team and other stakeholders to ensure seamless translation of knowledge

· Assist individuals in Activities of Daily Living, including but not limited to providing personal care and ensuring appropriate attire is always worn.

· Provide support in community integration as appropriate, including preferential religious practices

· Encourage utilization of self-advocacy skills to foster independence

· Ensure general health and safety of client(s) and all environments as assigned on a daily basis

· Supervise residents’ self-administration and/or the distribution and administration of prescribed medications

· Complete behavior management training programs prior to working with specific residents; consistently implement and document interventions as indicated in programs (see addendum for physical requirements)

· Attend ongoing training and meetings as required

· Implement behavioral interventions as guided by written and Human Rights Committee (HRC) approved behavior and risk management plans

· Responsible for supervision of residents’ medical/evaluative appointments and accompaniment of residents to such appointments

· Provide transportation for residents in vehicles approved by Agency

· Responsible for remaining on shift until adequate coverage can be provided as determined by Program Manager or designated responsible person (Shift Leader)

· Responsible for handling money according to agency policy and program protocol

· Responsible for aiding in the general upkeep of residence, furnishings and equipment

· Adhere to the NH state law requiring mandated reporting of suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor


Assistant Manager:

· Provide on-site leadership when Program Manager is off premises

· Mentor/train staff when directed by Manager in specified areas

· Share responsibility for the documentation of house and client files according to state regulation (He-M-1001 and He-M 503) which includes acquisition of documentation, filing hard copies and electronic records

· Ensure training requirements for staff are documented and present in file

· Share with Program Manager and RN the responsibility of keeping medical books in order according to He-M 1201 standards

· Confirm timesheets are timely and accurate, report issues to manager

· Participation in rotation of on-call duties

· In the absence of the Program Manager, work with Director, Case Managers and guardians to ensure services continue and program quality is maintained

· Assist Program Manager in collecting data from client books and document monthly progress notes

· Assist with staff schedules and shift assignments

Requirements:

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred, plus minimum of 1 year experience in human services required; 3 years’ experience preferred

· $100,000/300,00 Automobile Liability Insurance

· Valid driver’s license and access to a safe operating vehicle during scheduled working hours

· Criminal, motor vehicle, and Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services background checks that meet agency standards

· Required state training through Relias Learning or equivalent preferred

· Completion of Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) training part 1 and part 2

· Ability to individualize the supports needed for the individuals we serve

· Ability to work independently, as part of a team, or in a group setting to increase the skills of the individuals we serve and their quality of life in the community

· Provide personal care and behavioral support, including but not limited to physical assistance

· Maintain professional demeanor in emotionally charged situations

· Ability to write detailed accounts of incidents and behaviors

· Ability to successfully complete medication training, if applicable

· Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and daily assignments

· Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to master new software

All staff must adhere to the NH state law requiring mandated reporting of suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Additionally, staff are required to maintain criminal, motor vehicle, DCYF, OIG, and Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services record checks that meet agency standards. Staff are also required to travel and transport clients when applicable. This includes having access to a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s license and maintaining comprehensive personal auto insurance of $100,000/300,000.
