Financial Reporting Manager
A leading real estate investment trust (REIT) with a nationwide portfolio is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to oversee external reporting, supervise one direct report, and ensure compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations. This role is critical to supporting acquisitions, lease accounting, and financial reporting functions, contributing to the continued growth and success of the company.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $125,000 – $150,000 (based on experience)
- Annual performance bonus: Target 25%
- Hybrid work set-up: 3 days on-site, 2 days work-from-home

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee SEC filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K), including preparation, review, and tie-out
- Review lease accounting summaries (new/renewal/termination agreements) for GAAP compliance
- Coordinate purchase price allocation reports for acquisitions under ASC 805
- Prepare and review non-GAAP financial statements, quarterly supplements, and earnings documents
- Partner with the Construction team to ensure accurate capitalization, depreciation, and revenue recognition
- Review and reconcile straight-line rent for the entire property portfolio
- Review and tag new disclosures for quarterly XBRL filings; ensure ongoing data accuracy
- Perform technical accounting research and support SOX 404 compliance
Must have Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 4–6+ years of public accounting experience or comparable industry experience
- Real estate industry exposure (public accounting clients or private industry)
- SEC reporting knowledge is a must
- GAAP technical expertise
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Big 4 public accounting experience
- CPA designation (completed or actively in progress)
- Supervisory or corporate management experience
- Prior exposure to Workiva or MRI systems
