The Center for Northern Woodlands Education, a leading voice for forest stewardship in the Northeast, is seeking a full-time Editor for Northern Woodlands magazine. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative and creative work environment at our nonprofit’s Lyme, NH headquarters, and enjoy the rewards of managing all aspects of a small publication – from working with a writer to revise a draft, to brainstorming with outside experts on future series ideas. This role involves integrating print and digital media, conceiving and executing special projects, and participating in workshops and other educational events.

The mission of the Center for Northern Woodlands Education is to advance a culture of forest stewardship in the Northeast and to increase understanding of and appreciation for the natural wonders, economic productivity, and ecological integrity of the region’s forests. We publish a quarterly magazine and a weekly series of natural history essays. We also organize an annual conference and share stories about forests through our website and social media accounts.
